Greek Mythology Dreamcast - Daniel Craig as Zeus

Thy power divine the flaming lightning shrouds with dark investiture in fluid clouds. ‘Tis thine to brandish thunders strong and dire, to scatter storms, and dreadful darts of fire; with roaring flames involving all around, and bolts of thunder of tremendous sound. (x)

I continued as their killing machine, and the real me was kept locked away in my head for decades, until Cap fixed me, and all the horrors I committed came rushing back like a tsunami. I might have put a bullet in my brain to quiet the ghosts… if not for Natasha…

AU: in which Clint’s been through more military therapists than he can count but it’s not until he’s sent to Phil Coulson, that he finds someone he can truly open up to.

OH MY GOD YES.

And I think what happens is Clint just keeps “forgetting” his appointments and not showing up, so finally one day Coulson comes and finds him at the end of the day and says, “Let’s go get a beer.” And they do. And Coulson spends the entire two hours talking about himself, which Clint thinks at one point is kind of a selfish thing for a shrink to do, but it’s not like this is an actual appointment, they’re just having a few beers.

Clint learns that Coulson’s been in the field himself, doing stuff he doesn’t really talk about in specifics, and when it was time to re-up he decided he’d rather help the guys out there in a different way, so here he is. He’s probably the first guy Clint’s been ordered to talk to who might really understand Clint, if Clint had any desire to tell him anything, which he doesn’t. They have a good time, though. Coulson’s an interesting guy.

Every Tuesday, Coulson puts Clint on the schedule for 4pm and Clint doesn’t show, and then they meet at 6pm at the dive bar down the street and play darts (Clint always wins). And on Thursdays they meet at the diner near Coulson’s apartment, and eat burgers. And slowly, really slowly, Clint starts to talk about himself a little, just little things that don’t really matter, and he’s just thinking he’s finally getting the hang of this sharing shit when Coulson shows up Clint’s place one night, looking like he hasn’t slept in three days, and says, “I can’t be your doctor anymore,” and Clint says, “You never were,” and kisses him.

SOMEBODY PLEASE WRITE LIKE 25,000 WORDS OF THIS. PLEEEEEASE.

When Holmes continues, “My horror at his crimes was lost in my admiration at his skill,” he expresses more than just respect for an adversary. His admiration is a kind of self-approval as well. When Holmes contemplates Moriarty, he sees an image of himself reflected in a perverse mirror. Except for the “criminal strain” that “ran in his blood,” Moriarty might have become a highly esteemed colleague or even a soul mate
