I’m not even half way through the pilot and I already have a new favorite for 2013
HEY GUYS I WAS ACCEPTED IN THE POKEMONATHÓN! \o/
Here are Squirtle, Wartortle and Blastoise. Blastoise’s design gave me a fucking headache, it took me HOURS to get it to look the way I wanted.
BTW You can keep track of this project with the tag “pokemayans”

I’ve been thinking about making prints of these guys! So let me know if you’re interested, also don’t be shy to message me if you want to commission my mayan-like interpretation of a particular pokemon, I’m thinking of:
$15 USD for a single pokemon (for example squirtle)
$25 for the pokemon + its evolution (squirtle + wartortle)
and $35 for a pokemon and its two evolutions (squirtle + wartortle + blastoise)
Let me know if that sounds good!
You can also commission pokemon I’ve already reimagined and I’ll make you a special drawing resembling mayan stelas, (I’d offer you a discount if you commissioned Eevee and all its evolutions of course xD) I’m also willing and very interested to reinvent fakemon as maya mythical beasts :)

Other pokemayans :
Mythology - Medusa
Hades & Persephone- Gender Swap
She’s the sort of girl his mother warned him about, but he never hesitates, pomegranate seeds caught between his teeth, juice running down his chin.
Crime Family AU; The Death of Baldr
They paid to keep him safe, their summer son, they paid everyone to keep him safe. No one would dare touch him, who would want him dead? That brilliant boy? But someone did, someone wanted him gone. They say it was mistletoe, snuck in to his food, they couldn’t get to him in time. They say the whole city wept.

Artist Appreciation: Phil Noto’s Hank Pym’s Photo Archive.
This is one of my favorite projects by an artist. Not only is each of his works beautifully detailed, but Noto also seems to turn these fictional superheroes into real life people. I love the use of actual dates in order to show us a glimpse into the real lives of these characters. I feel like I would see this “photographs” in old issues of TIME Magazine or something. Fantastic.
Previous Phil Noto posts: Havok and Polaris, Betsy Braddock (1983), and Winter Storm (1978).
I love this so much
He’s so great at making them real.
Oh wow, these are so lovely.
I want a coffee table book of this.
